Profile John has been a health & safety specialist for more than 15 years and has a Diploma in Safety Management (DipSM). He has been accepted into the Faculty of Risk Management (FRM) and is a fellow of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (FIIRSM). John completed the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) professional trainer’s certificate and is a registered trainer. See our training page for details of available CIEH courses John has held a senior position with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office responsible for the management of health & safety in the UK and at missions worldwide. This key position has included: Writing policies Managing accident investigation Managing personal injury claims Advising senior officers to ensure compliance with relevant legislation Risk assessment Delivering health & safety training on a range of subjects John started his career in mechanical engineering with experience of managing mechanical, electrical, carpentry, diesel and paint workshops. He progressed his career by a mechanical to electrical conversion course and training in high voltage systems.
